Bakelite

We offer bakelized paper and canvas in sheets, tubes and rounds.
This material stands out for its good thermal and electrical insulation, its dielectric capabilities, easy workability and excellent mechanical characteristics. For example, it is particularly resistant to bending and compression.
Misolet offers Bakelite processing such as blanking, milling and turning starting from the customer's design.

What is Bakelite?

Phenolic resin is the one from which the thermosetting polymer called bakelite or more commonly bakelite originates. The starting resin is obtained from the polycondensation of phenol and formaldehyde.
It is a material used for the first time in 1907 in the form of pure polymerized synthetic resin. Today it is produced using a reinforcing material such as paper or cotton fabric.
For example, it is used in electrical panels, spacers, separators, transformers, gears, bushings and washers.
We supply Bakelite in panels and sheets with different dimensions and thickness depending on whether it is canvas or Bakelite paper.

The different types of Bakelite

Bakelized canvas

Bakelized canvas is a layered insulation, composed of phenolic resin and cotton fabric. Misolet offers different types of slabs, each with peculiar characteristics, to be considered based on the product to be created.
there F-type bakelized canvas panels, which stand out for their mechanical resistance, i FF type bakelized canvas panels, suitable for very small-sized processes and those with graphite , with excellent self-lubricating qualities.
Recall that the commercial term Celeron indicates the bakelized canvas.

Bakelized paper is a layered insulation, composed of phenolic resin and sheets of paper. This material is used for dielectric use, which both panels up to 3 mm and higher thicknesses possess. The latter are mostly used as supports in electrical panels, spacers, separators and covers, while the former are more suitable for shearing.
We remind you that the commercial term Dellite identifies bakelized paper.

Canevasite V0

Canevasite F18 V0 HF is a high pressure laminate for mechanical and electrical applications, produced in compliance with the DIN EN 60893 Standard.
It is also rated V0 under the UL-94 flammability standard. This means that combustion stops within 10 seconds on a vertical piece, leaving droplets of non-flammable material.
This material has high mechanical resistance, stress, abrasion and wear. Thanks to these characteristics, Canevasite extends the period of use of the machines in which it is used, with consequent cost savings.
